BJ Brinkerhoff

BJ offers clients a wealth of experience from a wide variety of litigation matters, representing individuals, small and family businesses, large corporations and Fortune 500 companies in multiple forums.  He focuses his practice on business disputes, such as employment matters, shareholder claims, director and officer liability and day-to-day business disputes.  BJ also has litigation experience handling products liability cases, restaurant and retail liability, civil rights matters, contract disputes, insurance matters, personal injury and appeals.   BJ has spent a substantial amount of time working with small business owners and entrepreneurs to guide them through their legal issues including: negotiation of real estate disputes; franchising and intellectual property matters; issues between partners and founders, and counseling business owners on how to avoid legal risks.  Indiana has a vibrant startup community and BJ has been at the forefront, working with entrepreneurs to address their unique concerns and challenges.  BJ graduated with a B.A. from Vanderbilt University, and remains a die-hard Commodores fan. He received his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. While in law school, BJ was a finalist and later served as Chief Justice for the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition.


Norris Cunningham

Mr. Cunningham concentrates his practice in healthcare dispute resolution including trial practice, regulatory advocacy, and arbitration. He has tried and arbitrated numerous matters throughout the nation on behalf of healthcare providers. Mr. Cunningham is the Immediate Past Chair of the Indiana State Bar Association Diversity Committee and past chair of the Long-Term Care Subcommittee of the Health Section of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana. He is a certified arbitrator by the American Arbitration Association and the American Health Lawyers Association. Mr. Cunningham has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America (2016-present); Super Lawyers (2017- present); America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators (2018-present); and The National Black Lawyers Top 100.  Mr. Cunningham is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, DRI, and The National Bar Association.  Mr. Cunningham achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in United States Air Force and Indiana Air National Guard where he retired 2010 after completing twenty-two years of service as a Medical Service Corps officer.  He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm (1990); Operation Noble Eagle (2001); Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003); and Joint Task Force Katrina (2005). 


Lucy Dollens

Lucy Dollens concentrates her practice in complex commercial litigation, representing clients in all aspects of business litigation disputes. Lucy enjoys working with her clients to best position them to meet their business objectives and minimize risk with respect to contractual issues prior to the initiation of litigation and throughout the course of litigation. Licensed in both Indiana and West Virginia, Lucy's commercial litigation practice encompasses distribution and dealership disputes and warranty issues, including for large manufacturing clients, as well as employment restrictive covenants and trade secrets litigation. She also has extensive experience representing financial institutions, servicers, and consumer finance companies in both the consumer and commercial contexts. Her practice extends to federal and state trial and appellate courts, bankruptcy courts, proceedings involving governmental agencies and regulators, and class actions.

In the appellate arena, Lucy represents individuals and corporate clients in both state and federal appellate courts in a range of legal issues including commercial litigation, labor and employment disputes, products liability cases, premises liability matters, and administrative and licensing issues. She also represents amicus curiae parties in cases involving significant issues before Indiana’s Court of Appeals and Supreme Court and pro bono clients (through court appointment) in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

In addition to her role as Office Managing Partner, she also serves as Recruiting Chair for the Indianapolis Office.


Marian C. Drenth

Marian C. Drenth concentrates her practice in civil litigation with an emphasis in health care litigation.  Her experience includes representing clients through Indiana's Medical Review Panel Process, mediation and through trial.  Ms. Drenth has successfully defended clients in numerous jury trial, many as first chair, in matters involving general negligence and medical malpractice claims.  She speaks at in-house seminars for health care providers regarding preventative tools to assit in risk management.  She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Porter County Inns of Court and Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, where she currently serves as Director and previously served as vice-chair of the Health Lasw Section.  She is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.She served as a board member of the Porter County Inns of Court where she became president in 2009.


Belinda Johnson-Hurtado

Belinda is a Partner at Clendening Johnson & Bohrer, P.C. practicing in civil litigation department and concentrating in complex commercial litigation, insurance law, and personal injury law.  She graduated from the University of Evansville, cum laude, with a B.S. in Legal Studies and received her J.D., cum laude, from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. She is also a 2002 Fellow of the Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunity (ICLEO).  Belinda is active with Bloomington’s Hispanic community working with and advising the firm’s Spanish speaking clients and publishing materials to help non-native English speakers understand the U.S. legal system and processes.  Belinda is a Member of the Board of Editors, Indiana Civil Litigation Review (2010-Present).  She was awarded the 2018 Women in the Law Recognition Award from the Indiana State Bar Association’s Women in the Law Committee and was named into America’s Top 100 Civil Defense Litigators® in 2018.  She was an Indiana Super Lawyers Rising Star® in Civil Litigation – Defense from 2013 through 2015.


R. Jeffrey Lowe

Jeff Lowe is a partner in the New Albany office of Kightlinger & Gray, LLP.  Mr. Lowe’s primary area of practice is in civil rights defense work.  He regularly represents governmental entities sued for constitutional or state law torts in state or federal courts. He regularly counsels cities, towns and counties regarding their constitutional obligations and state law duties.  He also handles general liability and professional liability cases.

He is the former Chair of DRI’s Governmental Liability Section and now serves on DRI’s National Board of Directors.  Mr. Lowe is also a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Defense Counsel. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1994 with a B.A. in History and received his J.D. from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 1998.


Beverly J. Mack

Beverly Mack is a partner in the LaPorte firm of Huelat & Mack P.C.  She is an Illinois native, and practiced law at an insurance defense firm in her home state for seven years before relocating to Indiana in 1996.  She has practiced insurance defense litigation at Huelat & Mack P.C. for 23 years, including product liability, industrial accidents, trucking, construction defect, dental malpractice, premises liability, and commercial actions. Beverly obtained her B.A. from Eastern Illinois University, and her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.  She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association. Anna Mallon

Anna Mallon is with the Paganelli Law Group and concentrates her practice in the areas of insurance bad faith, insurance coverage and third party defense of insureds.  Anna regularly practices in state and federal courts handling trials, summary judgment hearings, mediations and arbitrations.  Prior to attending law school, Anna taught high school government and worked in Washington, DC as a paralegal.  Anna received a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Secondary Education from Miami University in 1997.  She received her J.D. from Indiana University School of Law- Indianapolis in 2002.  Anna is admitted to practice in Indiana, and before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.  She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana and Defense Research Institute.  Anna was named as a “Rising Star” by Indiana Super Lawyers in 2009, 2010 and 2011.


Libby Valos Moss Moss

Libby Valos Moss is a Partner with the firm Kightlinger & Gray, LLP.  She is a trial attorney who concentrates her practice in the areas of employment law and defense of employers before the Indiana Worker's Compensation Board.  She is a frequent speaker on the issues employer's face when confronted with worker's compensation claims.  She is admitted to practice in Indiana and before the U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.  Libby is a 1995 graduate of Ball State University and graduated from the Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, in 1999.  She has served as the Chair of the DTCI Worker's Compensation Section.  In addition to being an active member of DTCI, she is also a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, Litigation Counsel of America and Defense Research Institute.


Keith Mundrick

Keith provides experienced representation to a wide variety of corporate clients, focusing his practice in the areas of product liability, premises liability, and catastrophic personal injury defense, including toxic tort and wrongful death claims. Keith also advises and represents insurance companies in the areas of bad faith, policy coverage, first-party and third-party defense.


Richard K Shoultz

Rick Shoultz is a partner at Lewis Wagner, LLP, and focuses his practice upon representing clients in the areas of fire loss, construction, product liability, insurance and commercial litigation.  He also spends considerable time in assisting clients in the analysis and litigation of insurance coverage questions relating to commercial general liability, automobile, property and homeowners policies, including claims relating to breach of the insurer’s duty of good faith.  He is a graduate of Hanover College in 1987, and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1990.

               Mr. Shoultz is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, DRI, the American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association. He has been selected as an Indiana Super Lawyer for the years of 2010-2018, and in The Best Lawyers of America in the field of Insurance Law for 2013-2019.  In his spare time, Rick enjoys playing softball, following his favorite sports teams, studying the Civil War and traveling.


Stacy F. Thompson

Stacy Thompson, a partner at Pitcher Thompson, PC, graduated with high distinction from Indiana University in 1999 with a BA in public health. In 2002, she graduated from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. Stacy concentrates her practice in the representation of healthcare professionals, including individual physicians and nurses, hospitals, physicians’ practice groups, and healthcare-related organizations, in a variety of healthcare law matters.  In 2010, DTCI named Ms. Thompson the Young Lawyer of the Year for her leadership qualities in service to the Indiana defense bar, the national defense bar, and the community. In 2010, 2011, and 2012, she was named a Rising Star by Indiana Super Lawyers, and in 2017 and 2018 she was named a Super Lawyer. Ms. Thompson also served DTCI as the chair of its Health Law Section and is currently on the DTCI Women in the Law Committee.


Elizabeth Trachtman

Elizabeth’s practice focuses on medical malpractice defense and serves both hospitals and individual healthcare providers. She has also practiced in state and federal courts in the areas of product liability and general insurance defense.  Elizabeth has practiced in the areas of medical malpractice defense, product liability, subrogation and worker’s compensation.


Louis Voelker

Lou Voelker is a partner in the Hammond offices of Eichhorn & Eichhorn.  He received his B.A. in 1991 from Purdue University and his J.D. cum laude in 1995 from Indiana University School of Law - Bloomington.  His practice areas include: General Litigation, Professional Libability, Medical Malpractice, Dental Malpractice, Medical Disciplinary Proceedings, Health Care and Health Compliance, Right of Way Easements. Contracts, and Appellate Practice.  He was named Indiana Super Lawyer 2013-2014.  He was awarded Defense Lawyer of the Year in 2012. 


Germaine Willett


Germaine Winnick Willett serves as Senior Counsel in the Labor, Employment and Immigration Section at the Indianapolis office of Ice Miller LLP.  She focuses her practice primarily on employment litigation matters, assisting clients with employment discrimination, wage and hour, contract, and other employment-related litigation.  She also advises clients on a broad range of issues including proper handling of employee complaints, employment termination, employee leave and accommodation issues, and employment policies.  Ms. Willett represents clients in Indiana’s state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies.  Ms. Willett is a member of the American Bar Association (EEO Committee), the Indianapolis Bar Association (chair of Women in Law Division, 2011 and co-chair of WLD Mentoring Program 2012-2018), Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana (chair of Women in Law Committee, 2017-2018, and Board of Directors, 2019-2020), and the Defense Research Institute.  She recently completed a two-year term on Ice Miller’s Women’s Initiative, during which she spearheaded a program designed to help female attorneys strengthen their networking and business development skills.  She currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Growing Places Indy.  Ms. Willett received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from DePauw University in 1994.  She earned her juris doctorate, cum laude, from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law Bloomington, Indiana in 1998 where she served as a Note Editor for the Indiana Law Journal and President of the Women’s Law Caucus.  She was admitted to practice in Indiana and joined Ice Miller LLP in 1998.
