Workers' Comp

Sonia has a diverse defense litigation practice which includes managing dockets and representing defendants in the Marion County Mass Tort dockets for asbestos, silica and coal tar pitch claims. She also represents employers throughout the state before the Worker’s Compensation Board, and has been a speaker and author on various workers’ compensation topics. Sonia also maintains practices in insurance coverage litigation, general liability insurance defense litigation, and appellate law. She will serve as Chair of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana Worker’s Compensation Section, and is also a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association and Defense Research Institute.

J. Curtis Greene is an attorney in the Litigation Department of Barnes & Thornburg LLP's Indianapolis, Indiana Office. Mr. Greene represents individuals as well as private and publicly-traded companies regionally and nationally in a variety of civil litigation matters. His practice focuses primarily in business/commercial disputes and products liability defense. Mr. Greene joined the firm after nearly 10 years in both the public and private sectors serving in various operational and executive business management roles.  Mr. Greene is a member of the Marion County Local Rules Committee and is active in the Indianapolis community and state and local bar associations.  Mr. Greene graduated magna cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis, where he served as editor-in-chief of volume 15 of the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review.

Kori L. McOmber received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Miami University in 1998, and received her juris doctorate in 2001 from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. While in law school, Ms. McOmber represented the university at the American Bar Association’s Moot Court Competition in Boston, Massachusetts. She currently specializes in the defense of physicians, hospitals and other healthcare providers in medical negligence claims. She also focuses her practice in the defense of insurance companies in insurance coverage matters and the defense of corporations in product liability matters. She represents clients in both federal and state court, and is licensed to practice in Indiana and before the Federal District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. She is a member of the Indiana State and Indianapolis Bar Associations and serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Indianapolis Bar Association. She is also an active member of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana (DTCI) and currently serves as the Chair of the Insurance Coverage section of that organization. In 2009, DTCI named Ms. McOmber the Young Lawyer of the Year for her leadership qualities in service to the Indiana defense bar, the national defense bar, and the community. In 2008, Ms. McOmber was named Young Lawyer of the Year by the Indianapolis Bar Association. In 2009, she was named a “Rising Star” by the Indiana Super Lawyers publication. She is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and is a graduate of the Indiana Trial Academy Skills College. Ms. McOmber is the Immediate Past President of the Miami University Alumni Association – Indianapolis Chapter.

Tony Overholt, Counsel at Frost Brown Todd, has extensive experience in representing schools and other municipal entities. He is an experienced litigation attorney with numerous jury and bench trials in federal and state court with substantive concentration in labor, employment discrimination, general litigation and constitutional law. He also has significant appellate experience having argued many appeals before state and federal appellate courts. As part of his representation of local governments, he negotiates collective bargaining agreements with public sector unions and has assisted in managing public relations strategies relating to those negotiations.

Jennifer Tarnowski is a personal injury defense and insurance coverage litigation paralegal for State Farm Litigation Counsel in Indianapolis. Jennifer graduated from Indiana University – Indianapolis with a B.A. in Political Science and a Paralegal Certification. She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Indiana Paralegal Association. Jennifer volunteers with Exodus Refugee Immigration, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and Habitat for Humanity.

Stacy F. Thompson is a partner at the Bloomington and Indianapolis law firm of Mallor Clendening Grodner & Bohrer LLP. Her primary area of practice involves the representation of health care providers in medical malpractice actions, including representation of individual doctors, nurses, and hospitals. She also has experience in general litigation and insurance defense. Stacy graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor's degree with high distinction in Public Health and from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. She is admitted to the bar in Indiana and to practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
